Rick Hanson, Ph.D. will be joined by Frank Ostaseski (March 1) and Tara Brach, Ph.D. (March 2-4) for this very special event.
Rick’s workshop is titled “Mindful Cultivation: Feeling and Growing the Good.” Mindfulness is profoundly important—but not enough. We grow compassion and wisdom by turning passing experiences of them into lasting changes in the brain. Unfortunately, most beneficial experiences flow through us like water through a sieve, while stressful, painful experiences “stick” due to the brain’s negativity bias. Mindfulness of passing mental states does not itself grow specific psychological resources. This experiential workshop will explore an embodied intimacy with beneficial experiences—without clinging to them—to increase their encoding in neural networks. Then daily life is full of opportunities for lasting healing, growth, and transformation.
The workshops are from March 1st to the 4th. Rick will be presenting on March 2nd:
This workshop is eligible for 5 Continuing Education hours.
